The Test of Business English (TBE) contains seven sections of questions, as follows:

• Basic English Mechanics - grammar, spelling, and punctuation
• Word Knowledge - knowledge of words commonly used in business
• Reading Comprehension - understanding written material
• Paragraph Structure - organizing thoughts into simple paragraphs
• Spelling - recognizing misspelled words
• Spell Checker - questions similar to using a spell-checker
• Word Usage - questions on commonly misused words

The test report for the TBE contains an overall score and four sub-scores. (The sub-scores are combinations of the question sections listed above.)
